Trying to catch up with ourselves

In the mornings when I go for a run I often find myself chasing my own shadow. I can of course never catch up with it because it’s a part of me. When I think more deeply about it I can see how our shadow side as viewed in psychotherapy and coaching can relate to how we help our clients accept sometimes the unacceptable parts of ourselves.

The shadow can be found in the unconcious parts of ourselves, the bits we don’t like to claim. So how can we catch up with ourselves? Im aware that often counselling and coaching can be a space where people take some time out from their lives, time to reflect and catch up with who we are. Meditation can also be a great way of catching up with ourselves and inhabiting our experience of being human.

We still have spaces on our Simply Meditation Course at the end of April or perhaps you would like to have a session of counselling or coaching

Trying to catch up with ourselves
Chasing my shadow when running to simply catchup with who you are and how you want your life to be.

To confront a person with his shadow is to show him his own light. Once one has experienced a few times what it is like to stand judgingly between the opposites, one begins to understand what is meant by the self. Anyone who perceives his shadow and his light simultaneously sees himself from two sides and thus gets in the middle. Jung
