Somerset County Council Emergency Duty Team (EDT)

The Local Authority out of hours service (available from 17.30 – 08.30) deals with emergency or urgently distressing situations.  The team covers the Local Authority’s statutory responsibilities under mental health, child care and welfare legislation.  It is provided on an out of hours basis, including weekends and bank holidays.

SANE – SANE runs a national, out-of-hours mental health helpline offering specialist emotional support and information to anyone affected by mental illness, including family, friends and carers.
