MBACP | UKCP Registered Psychotherapist
Angela McCormack is a qualified counsellor and registered psychotherapist with over 12 years of experience working with clients on a wide range of issues including: depression, anxiety, stress, abuse, life-crisis, addiction, self-harming, eating disorders, sexuality, gender identity, grief, relationship problems, self-worth, anger, mental health issues, personal growth and life-direction.
Angela trained for 5 years and studied all the main approaches to psychotherapy, including humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural, gestalt, body psychotherapy, existential and the transpersonal. She is our Wellington counsellor.
This means that Angela is very comfortable in working in a variety of different ways. For example, some people prefer to express themselves solely in words, while others are at home with exploring images and dreams or using some kind of creative communication. Angela is skilled in integrating various approaches to therapy, so that each client can find their own way forward. She works with each person in a unique way, following what works best for them and offering a range of ways to grow.
As well as her work as a Psychotherapist, Angela is also an independent consultant working with businesses and charities.
Angela has professional membership of both UKCP and the BACP (MBACP). She has regular supervision with a very experienced supervisor and therapist, to ensure that she is working in a healthy and professional way at all times. She keeps a fresh approach to her work by undertaking regular ongoing professional development opportunities (via workshops and training courses etc).
Angela always works within the latest ethical frameworks of both UKCP and BACP.
