November at New Leaf Life Designs sees 10 Creative Economy Coaching participants start they’re coaching. The coaching aims to help increase levels of sustainability by developing stronger business models. It also aims to increase awareness of using social media and help create business networks, shared learning, development and create a creative nexus group for the future.
The work is delivered 50% in kind by New Leaf Life Design and 50% funded by Somerset County Council Creative Industries Development Fund. The 10 successful applicants are:
John Wingfield is a sculptor working on large scale pieces using chainsaws along with other tools. www.wingfieldsculpture.com. John is based near Langport.

Ahob Goblin craft artist Robert Cole. He creates Faerie Houses and Faerie furniture based in Chard Somerset. Robert is yet to get his website up and running. He wants to create more art pieces inspired by the Faerie realm.
Lorna Siviter designs greeting cards for a number of publishing companies and sells limited edition prints in local galleries. www.lornasiviter.co.uk she is Taunton based.
Bronwen Gwillim is based in Wiveliscombe she specialises in creating art for public spaces. She provides a comprehensive service to architects, building contractors and public bodies such as local authorities, schools and hospitals.
Helen Allcock is based in Glastonbury. She is a fine artist creating printmaking and painting mainly in abstract forms. She also delivers art workshops to children and families across Somerset.
Shane Whitehead has a small arts foundry in Shepton Mallet. He makes his own work plus the work of amateur and professional sculptors and public commissions in bronze. www.artofafinenature.com
Liz Green The Potting Shed at number 23 is based in Yeovil. She makes ceramic giftware and holds workshops for people of different abilities where she shares her love of designing and making hand thrown pottery gifts.
Emma Duke from Taunton makes unique and individual sculptures, wall art and candles from driftwood found on the Somerset coastline. She holds workshops for the Stroke clubs as she says,” Driftwood can be tactile and therapeutic for the mind and limbs.” www.emmaduke.co.uk
Barnaby Adams from Cuckooo Design based in Moorlinch Somerset Cuckooo Design Studio is a small but creative company excelling in proactive graphics. www.cuckooo.co.uk
Jo Kidd from Tracebridge Nr Wellington her company Urban Chintz is a new design label. www.urbanchintz.com Urban Chintz is a new design label from designer Jo Kidd. Set up in late 2010 to create contemporary designs on sustainable, beautiful and desirable textiles with subtle twist and depth, through the use of colour, imagery and texture.
Each participant will be working with New Leaf Life Design for the next 5 months.
